My suggestion would be The World Turned Upside Down.
There are a number of iterations of the song, and it is also the title of a classic book by Christopher Hill on the various dissenting groups during the English Civil War.

No idea if this is a good example of it's kind... more informed opinion is welcome.
Admittedly this would be starting from the music rather than the history! (Watergate? A stretch maybe.)
